The conference in Region IV-A was held on August 6, 2015 in Tagaytay City and focused on the automotive, electronics, petrochemicals, and IT-BPM industries.
In her opening remarks, DTI Regional Director Marilou Toledo emphasized the role that stakeholders from the region will play in localizing industry roadmaps and that the government and the private sector should work in coordination with one another.
Delivering the keynote on behalf of Undersecretary Adrian Cristobal, Jr., Assistant Secretary Rafaelita Aldaba highlighted the stake of the region in reviving the country’s manufacturing sector. With the second largest regional share in the economy’s GDP, Asec. Aldaba noted that the industries in the region have a high potential to create more and better jobs, thereby contributing to the achievement of sustainable and inclusive growth.
